Case Study: Alive Outside x Discovery Playtime
Project Overview
Discovery Playtime partnered with Alive Outside, one of Ireland’s leading outdoor adventure camp providers, to transform and reimagine the role of creativity across their multi-site programmes.
What began as a review of their existing arts and crafts segment quickly evolved into a full redesign of their creative offering - including a brand-new activity programme and a hands-on, high-impact training session for instructors and team leaders.
Our approach focused oncreativity, imagination, communication, and teamwork, with every element designed to fit Alive Outside’s active, outdoor ethos and support real outcomes for both children and staff.

Objectives

Our Approach
This wasn’t an off-the-shelf workshop - it was a collaborative consultancy process from start to finish.
We worked closely with Alive Outside’s leadership team through calls, in-person visits, and planning sessions to fully understand their goals, environment, and available resources. Based on this, we co-developed a tailored creative programme that could be delivered confidently by instructors of all backgrounds — not just arts-focused staff.

The final training was delivered on-site to a group of 40+ staff, blending experiential learning, practical strategies, and playful team-building, all wrapped in Discovery Playtime’s signature approach to child development and learning through play.
